    Job Overview

    Reporting to the Director of Enterprise Systems, the Data Architect and Team Lead serves as the university’s senior technical authority for enterprise data architecture, database platforms, and analytics data structures. The position defines and advances the campus data platform strategy in alignment with CSU systemwide initiatives, including Microsoft Fabric, Snowflake, and the evolving CSU data lake environment.

    This role provides hands-on technical leadership in the design and delivery of scalable, secure, and governed data solutions; establishes architectural standards and integration patterns; and elevates the technical capabilities of the Data Administration and Analytics team. The incumbent partners with campus and Chancellor’s Office stakeholders to enable trusted data for analytics, operations, compliance, and institutional decision-making and plays a foundational role in the development of the university’s data governance framework.

    Data Architect and Team Lead (Database Administrator IV)

    This is a full-time, exempt position, which will lead toward permanent status following the successful completion of a probationary period.

    Pay, Benefits, and Work Schedule

    Anticipated Hiring Salary Range: $10,438 - $11,299 per month

    CSU Classification Salary Range: $8,231 - $11,990 per month

    Salary is commensurate with the background and experience of the individual selected.

    This position is eligible for a broad range of benefits, including medical, dental, vision, life and disability insurances, retirement (CalPERS), tuition waiver, vacation and sick leave. In addition, 15 paid holidays are offered each year; 14 scheduled on specific days and a Personal Holiday that may be taken any time during the year.
