What You Will Be Doing
The Security Officer is responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment by protecting people, property, and assets across assigned client sites. This role requires a dependable professional who can monitor activities, respond appropriately to incidents, enforce security procedures, and provide outstanding customer service. The ideal candidate demonstrates strong observation skills, sound judgment, and a commitment to safety while upholding OSS's standards of professionalism and integrity.
This position serves as the Lead Officer on assigned weekend shifts and must meet all requirements necessary to qualify as an Armed Security Officer. While this position is primarily unarmed, the officer may be assigned armed duties when covering for vacations, call-offs, special events, or other operational needs as directed by the Site Manager or client.

Security Officer Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide a highly visible security presence to deter criminal activity, safety hazards, and policy violations.
- Patrol assigned areas on foot or in a vehicle to ensure the security of personnel, property, and assets.
- Monitor access control points and regulate entry and exit of visitors, employees, and vendors.
- Respond promptly and appropriately to emergencies, alarms, incidents, and calls for service.
- Enforce site-specific policies, procedures, and post orders while maintaining professionalism and sound judgment.
- Observe and report suspicious activities, unsafe conditions, and security concerns.
- Prepare clear, accurate, and timely incident reports, logs, and documentation using company systems.
- Coordinate with management, emergency responders, and law enforcement when necessary.
- Deliver exceptional customer service by assisting visitors, answering questions, and maintaining a professional demeanor at all times.
- Support the safety and security goals of assigned client locations.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Neat and well-groomed appearance.
- Provide a high level of courtesy and customer service.
- Commitment to safety at all times.
- Excellent customer service skills (e.g., courtesy, patience, understanding, etc.).
- Good computer skills, including the following: able to use a keyboard to correctly input information accurately and efficiently into software programs; able to navigate various software applications and the internet/intranet; able to write and send emails; able to restart/reboot computers and printers; possess a reasonable general working knowledge of computers.
- Effectively speak and write the English language.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills, including the proper use of grammar, punctuation, and spelling.
- Work overtime as operational needs require.
- Must meet all requirements necessary to qualify as an Armed Security Officer.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain all required armed licenses, certifications, and training.
- Embody vigilance, diligence, and integrity.
