While in the Deputy Trainee status, the employee participates and engages in a formal, full-time law enforcement academy, in-house training, and assigned work activities specifically designed and chosen to train and indoctrinate the individual in the field of law enforcement. Work is performed under the immediate, daily supervision and guidance of a higher‑level officer and/or academy instructor.
