Title: Skate GuardPosition Type: Part-Time, Non-ExemptCompany: Sharks Sports and Entertainment, LLCLocation: Sharks Ice, FremontReports To: General ManagerPay Range: $22.02 per hourPosition SummaryResponsible for the safe operation and normal maintenance of the ice arena.Shift InformationAvailable to work 2/3rds of scheduled events each month, including evenings, weekends, and some holidays.Essential FunctionsMonitors all public session skating events both on and off the ice.Assists in general maintenance and upkeep of the arena area, including sweeping, cleaning, and other custodial duties.Provides excellent customer service at all times and ensures all policies are properly implemented.During public skating, issues equipment and staffs the equipment counters.Maintains rental skates, boots, blades and boot replacement/repair.Supervises skating to ensure safe operations and responds to the needs of user groups.Operates music and public address systems.Administers first-aid as required.Knows emergency procedures for equipment and facility evacuation plan.Ensures overall cleanliness of the ice facility.Performs additional duties as required.QualificationsMust wear SSE assigned uniform during all shifts.Ability to work various shifts, weekends, holidays, and late nights.Must be proficient ice skater.Prior ice rink experience preferred.Must be able to successfully perform the essential functions of this job that are physically demanding.Must be able to stand and walk for long periods of time.Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.Must be able to work in a cold environment.What We Offer$200 employee referral bonus for each friend hired.30% discount in the Sharks Pro Shop.Food and beverage discount at SAP Center, TechCU Arena, and Stanley's.4 free Barracuda tickets to each game.Free ice skating at Sharks Ice (San Jose, Fremont, and Oakland).Pet Insurance.Free employee parking.Fun environment.Equal Opportunity EmployerSharks Sports and Entertainment is an equal opportunity employer.
