This position is a Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS) position in the Excepted Service under 10 U.S.C. 1601 If selected, Federal employees currently serving in the competitive service must acknowledge that they will voluntarily leave the competitive service by accepting an offer of employment for a DCIPS excepted service positions. If selected, non-DCIPS candidates must acknowledge that the position they have been selected for is in the excepted service and covered by DCIPS. For more information see
Incumbents typical work assignments may include the following:
- The primary purpose of this position is: To serve as an Intelligence Analyst for the Joint Enabling Capabilities Command (JECC), analyze all source intelligence information and prepare intelligence products.
- Continually monitors key world events and potential contingencies to anticipate short-notice requirements for intelligence support.
- Conducts in-depth research; evaluates both classified and unclassified information; analyzes and fuses multi-source information from all intelligence disciplines to satisfy a broad range of customer requirements.
- Manages and produces intelligence products for unit personnel in garrison, deploying force packages during pre-deployment preparation, and commanders and senior leaders to support decision-making.
- Assists the JECC Foreign Disclosure Officer by reviewing and preparing classified military information and controlled unclassified information for disclosure or release to foreign governments and/or international organizations.
- Monitors JECC intelligence activities to ensure compliance with applicable laws, Executive Orders, Intelligence Community (IC) and DoW policies, regulations, and directives.
- By direction or in the absence of the J2 Director, performs duties and acts on his or her behalf in the full range of intelligence matters.
