POSITION HIGHLIGHTS
The mission of the Construction and Building Maintenance Department is to maintain the District buildings to provide a safe, positive, and appealing learning environment. The Maintenance Lead will support the Supervisor of Construction and Building Maintenance in overseeing the daily workflow to include the work order and project requests.
The ideal candidate will possess outstanding written and verbal communication skills; strong organizational skills; strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple deadlines; the ability to apply knowledge of construction trades, building and infrastructure maintenance; and the ability to provide and coach others in providing outstanding customer services.
Work Schedule
The work schedule is Monday through Thursday, 6:30 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. and Friday, 6:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Over the summer the schedule changes to Tuesday through Friday, 6:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE :
- Associate degree*; AND
- Four (4) years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities of this class which includes one (1) year of experience performing duties in building or mechanical trades AND three (3) years of experience preparing cost estimations.
- Or, any combination of education and experience which would provide the required qualifications for the position.
*Associate degree education equivalency is a 1 to 1 equivalency, one year of responsible work experience related to the classification for each full year (24-30 units) of college.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATION, SPECIAL AND/OR OTHER REQUIREMENTS :
- Possession of or the ability to obtain within the first 6-months of employment (during probationary period):
- A valid Forklift Operators Certificate**
- A valid Aerial Lift Operators Certificate**
- A valid Scissor Lift Operators License or Certificate**
**District will provide training for certifications if required to perform the essential responsibilities of the position.

PRE-EMPLOYMENT REQUIREMENTS
- The successful applicant will be required to complete a medical history questionnaire and must agree to undergo and pass a pre-employment physical examination, based on the physical requirements of the position, prior to employment. The physician will be selected and paid for by the District. Disabilities not related to the essential physical job requirements will not preclude the applicant from being hired.
- Education Code § 87408.6 states that no person shall be initially employed by a community college district in an academic or classified position unless the person has submitted to an examination within the past sixty (60) days to determine that they are free of active tuberculosis.

You may be fingerprinted at Butte College Human Resources by appointment, or you may be fingerprinted at another agency. Should you be fingerprinted at another agency, the rolling fee charged by the Department of Justice (DOJ) for the fingerprint report is the employee's responsibility at the time of printing.
