Mesa Water District is an independent special district that provides 16,000 acre-feet per year (AFY) of domestic water and 1,100 AFY of recycled water to 110,000 customers in an 18-square mile area covering the City of Costa Mesa, parts of the City of Newport Beach, and John Wayne Airport. Mesa Water’s vision is to be a top-performing public water agency.     The Mesa Water District is seeking a forward-thinking professional with strong managerial and leadership capabilities to serve as its next District Engineer. Qualified candidates will possess a combination of education and experience that demonstrates the necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities for the role. Typically, this includes a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in civil engineering or a closely related field, with a master’s degree in civil engineering, environmental engineering, business administration, or public administration preferred. In addition, candidates should have at least eight years of progressively responsible professional experience in water utility engineering, including a minimum of five years managing projects—particularly within the public sector—and at least three years in management roles. The annual salary range for the District Engineer is $190,424 - $262,496; placement within this range is dependent on qualifications and experience.
