    Description:

    The Public Trustee Office is seeking a Temporary Administrative Support team member to assist with essential daily operations that ensure accurate, timely, and high-quality service to the community. This role supports the processing of deeds of trust, document management, customer inquiries, and general administrative workflow within the Public Trustee division. It is an excellent opportunity for individuals interested in learning the unique functions of the Public Trustee Office, with the potential for future growth as opportunities become available.

    We are looking for someone who is dependable, detail-oriented, and comfortable learning new processes in a fast-paced environment.

    SCHEDULE:

    This position will work Monday-Wednesday from 7:00 AM-2:15 PM and on Thursday from 7:00 AM-3:15 PM. This position requires work to be completed on-site at the Courts and Administration Building in Golden, Colorado. Please note that remote work is not allowed.

    COMPENSATION:

    Hiring Range: $22.00 - $26.00 USD Hourly

    Compensation will be determined based on education, experience, and skills.

    BENEFITS:

    Please note that this is a temporary, non-benefited position. There is no holiday pay. Employees are able to earn 1 hour of sick leave for every 30 hours worked, up to 48 hours.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
    • Begin by shadowing staff to learn front desk responsibilities, including answering phones, greeting visitors, and routing inquiries; gradually assume these tasks as proficiency is demonstrated.
    • Perform accurate data entry, document scanning, and electronic file maintenance.
    • Assist with front desk coverage and customer service under the guidance of trained staff.
    • Process incoming mail, documents, and administrative materials to ensure timely workflow.
    • Support team members with preparing forms, organizing information, and completing routine clerical tasks.
    • Assist with daily opening and closing procedures for the office.
    • Retrieve information from internal systems and complete basic research assignments, including through the Clerk & Recorder’s website.
    • Maintain a professional, courteous, and welcoming environment for internal staff and external customers.
    • Process deeds of trust with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
    • Perform other duties as assigned to support Public Trustee operations.

    Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
    • High School Diploma or GED.
    • Six months to one year of experience in an office, customer service, or clerical setting.
    • Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word).
    • Previous administrative or customer-service experience.
    • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and document handling.
    • Ability to remain calm, courteous, and professional when interacting with individuals under stress.
    • Demonstrated willingness to learn new systems, processes, and procedures.
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Interest in developing longer-term skills and growing within the Public Trustee’s Office as positions become available.


    ADDITIONAL JOB INFORMATION:
    • Offer of employment contingent upon successful completion of criminal history, motor vehicle report, education verification, and/or references.
    • A valid Colorado driver’s license is required for positions that drive on County Business in either a county or personal vehicle within 30-days of hire or beginning to serve as an intern or volunteer for every position.
