    Bill Frederick Park, the City of Orlando's premier nature park, offers year-round nature programming and education to the Orlando community. Programming includes but is not limited to youth field trips, family workshops, walking tours, table programs and more with increased participation over the summer months. Programming subjects include, but not limited to plants, trees, wildlife, and lake ecosystem along with activities such as fishing, hiking, farm tours and more! Nature Educators will work with the Nature Program Specialist to engage guests to learn, understand and appreciate the diverse natural environments and wildlife within the park, and that also exist in Central Florida. Educators will assist with coordination, preparation, delivery, set up and break down and maintenance of program and program materials along with some program development. Educators will work primarily with youth and groups can range in size. Ability to make responsible decisions and adapt easily and quickly to changing circumstances. Ability to follow through with assignments and accomplish tasks with little or no direct supervision. Ability to walk long distances, stand for long periods of time, work outside in all weather conditions, lift up to 50 pounds, have a flexible, changing work schedule. Available to work days, evenings, weekends and holidays.

    Minimum Requirements:

    High school diploma or equivalent required. Some college preferred. Some experience with youth, educational presentations, public speaking, or programming required. Florida driver’s license is required. Must pass comprehensive background check and polygraph.

    The following are required:

    • Must be able to walk and stand for extended periods, often under hot and humid conditions and in inclement weather.
    • Must be willing to work nights, weekends.
    • Must be able to follow through with assignments and accomplish tasks with little or no direct supervision.
    • Must have the ability to make responsible decisions and adapt easily and quickly to changing circumstances.
    • Must be able to lift and carry 50 pounds.


    THIS IS A PART_TIME_POSITION WITH NO GUARANTEE OF A CERTAIN NUMBER OF HOURS AND NO BENEFITS. THIS POSITION INVOLVES WORKING ON A TEMP/SEASONAL CONTRACT WHICH CAN BE RENEWED ANNUALLY BASED ON PERFORMANCE AND BUSINESS NEEED.

    If this posting indicates a degree is required, the following experience will apply in lieu of any degree as follows:
    • Two (2) years of direct experience for an associate degree;
    • Four (4) years of direct experience for a bachelor's degree;
    • Six (6) years of direct experience for a master's degree; or
    • Nine (9) years of direct experience for a doctoral degree.
