Job SummaryThe Nevada Department of Veterans Services is recruiting for a Project Manager 1 position. The Project Manager 1 will underfill for the authorized position of Project Manager 2. The duty station for this position will be determined based on the selected candidate and may be located in either Reno or Las Vegas, Nevada.

Job DutiesUnder general supervision, this position will support the planning, coordination, and implementation of projects related to the design, construction, and improvement of state facilities that serve Nevada’s veteran population.
The incumbent will assist in coordinating project activities involving capital improvement and facility enhancement projects; support oversight of the VA State Home Construction Grant (SHCG) project at the Southern Nevada State Veterans Home to ensure phases align with federal and state requirements; assist with development of proposals and documentation in support of future SHCG submissions and facility expansion efforts; track project timelines, deliverables, and funding activities for new and existing veterans home and cemetery projects; provide support in managing Capital Improvement Projects (CIP) across the department; assist in coordinating activities with Nevada State Public Works, architects, engineers, contractors, and other stakeholders; serve as a supporting liaison with the Federal Department of Veterans Affairs regarding State Home Construction Grant and Veterans Cemetery Expansion projects; assist with strategic planning and implementation efforts related to expansion of veteran services and facilities; and perform other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Knowledge, skills and abilities required at time of application: 1. Basic knowledge of project management principles and the ability to coordinate project activities, monitor timelines, and track deliverables.
2. Working knowledge of construction, facilities coordination, or capital improvement project processes and the ability to interpret related policies, procedures, and technical information.
3. Strong organizational, communication, and documentation skills with the ability to collaborate with multiple stakeholders and maintain accurate project records.
NOTE: Progression to Project Manager 2 is dependent upon meeting the minimum qualifications.
