Job Posting End Date - Applications will no longer be accepted starting Job Summary Performs professional and administrative engineering work with responsibility for reviewing engineering design and construction projects; providing information and engineering support to Environmental Services staff; and other related duties. Performs engineering, administrative and supervision tasks involving three distinct groups: Civil/Utilities Engineering, Utility Construction Inspection, and GIS Database Management. Work is performed under general supervision of the Wastewater Assistant Division Manager. Performance is reviewed through reports submitted, conferences, and results obtained.
Examples of Work Performed:Attend pre-application meetings, TRC meetings, and MPB meetings. Conducts review of Planning cases. Manage review of construction plans, shop drawings, as-built survey, easements, ROW encroachments, engineers’ certification, and other required closeout documentation. Attend site work meetings, preconstruction meetings, and general coordination meetings, related to sanitary projects. Oversee a team of WRD inspectors who conduct inspection of sanitary sewer facilities and reclaimed water mains to assure installation of the utilities are compliant with the City’s Engineering Standards Manual (ESM); Attend/Manage lift station startups, hydrostatic pressure tests, pressure main tapping operations, and other related tests. Assess system capacity, using computerized hydraulic modeling software. Manage and conduct utility coordination reviews of FDOT, Orange County, and other jurisdictions, where City utilities are located.
Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or related field with
six (6) or more years professional experience in engineering, public works construction, or related field,
two (2) years of which must have been in a managerial or supervisory capacity; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. Florida Engineer Intern Certification and valid Florida Driver's License
required. Florida Professional Engineering (PE) License preferred.
