    Education and Experience : A High school or equivalent (GED), or higher and four (4) years of customer service field experience which involved applying standard practices to independently resolve customer service problems, including one (1) year of supervisory experience.

    Licenses and Certificates : Texas Class “C” Driver’s License or equivalent from another state.

    General Purpose

    Under direct supervision, administers, supervises and participates in community and services provider outreach, clinic operations, public contact and customer service activities for public health programs. Works with assigned program staff to determine program efficiencies, effectiveness, and requirements.

    Typical Duties

    Provide guidance and direction for daily clinic or office operations. Greet customers and visitors to the office, ensuring guests are comfortable and relate to the right office personnel. May conduct community outreach, public contact and customer activities. Involves: Establish monthly schedules; preparing, maintaining, reviewing and analyzing records, reports and work statistics to determine program efficiency, effectiveness and adherence to requirements. Monitor and supervise customers and public contact activities; outreaching to, coordinating and communicating with community agencies and programs. Monitor the eligibility criteria for public service provision and explain or interpret other requirements. Recommend changes in operations and policies. Assist in preparation of work plans and budgets. Involves: Monitoring inventory and projecting needed resources. Manage schedules for conference and community spaces. Manage incoming and outgoing correspondence, including emails, faxes, mail and packages. Filing and organizing records, invoices, and other documentation. Submit work orders and scheduling repairs for general office space and equipment. Other duties as assigned.

    Analyze and resolve complex customer service cases. Involves: monitoring and analyzing customer contact center; research and responds to customer complaints; ordering field investigations to resolve complaints; interpreting and explaining Department of Public Health administrative and program rules, policies, and procedures in response to questions and complaints from customers and referring agency personnel. Maintain and complete required trainings and continuing education hours as specified by program.

    Supervise assigned personnel. Involves: scheduling, assigning, instructing, guiding, checking and evaluating work. Perform duties of co-workers or subordinates to ensure continuity of operations during absences. Provide internal training to staff as well as training to other programs when requested. assuring adherence to personnel rules and regulations, standards of conduct, work attendance and safe work practices; counseling, motivating and maintaining harmonious working relationships among subordinates; recommending staffing and employee status changes; interviewing applicants.
