    This position is categorically funded - position is contingent upon continued funding and Board approval.

    Yuba College is seeking an equity-minded, dynamic, collaborative, and innovative employee to serve as the Campus Life Technician.

    BASIC FUNCTION :
    Under the direction of an administrator or designee, coordinate college student activities including scheduling and facilitation of student events and direct interaction with student groups and clubs to include fiscal support; coordinate student government elections; assist with commencement ceremonies and annual awards events. Essential Duties Summary REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES :
    • Assist, support and promote college clubs and organizations in the planning and coordination of educational, social and cultural activities to include implementation of Dusty’s Food Pantry, college hour programs and other significant events throughout the calendar year including assisting with graduation activities and award ceremony on a designated campus.     • Assist Associated Students and college clubs with budget planning, preparation, and expenditure controls, including maintaining records according to applicable guidelines, processing requisitions and depositing club monies. (E)

    • Coordinate student government elections. (E)

    • Attend day and evening activities sponsored by the Associated Students. (E)

    • Train and oversee the Associated Students in the production and distribution of student identification cards. (E)

    • Interpret policies with respect to student organizations; provide information for students/advisors establishing student clubs. (E)

    • Serve as liaison to student clubs, their advisors and the college. (E)

    • Coordinate student involvement for state and local organizations, and selection of students to participate on college committees. (E)

    • Assist the College Marketing and Promotion Coordinator or administrator in planning and hosting college and public events, including but not limited to commencement and award ceremonies on the Yuba College campus. (E)

    • Assist the College Marketing and Promotion Coordinator or administrator in uploading and managing file content on electronic marquees and closed caption televisions throughout Yuba College, Sutter County Campus and Yuba Sutter Arts. (E)

    • Assist the College Marketing and Promotion Coordinator or administrator with design and development of Yuba College promotional and informational materials including editing of existing files and creating files that are press-ready. (E)

    • Assist the College Marketing and Promotion Coordinator or administrator in managing contracts with auxiliary services, including but not limited to vending machine administration, food service, and bookstore. (E)

    • Keep students, staff and community informed about campus life programs/activities, through maintaining a combined calendar with campus life programs/activities and other forms of campus-wide promotion. (E)

    • Serve as the first point of contact for Campus Life activities. (E)

    • Approve postings for and periodically monitor all Yuba College bulletin boards. (E)

    • Prepare, update, and distribute student clubs and organizations handbook and student handbook. Post all handbooks on the web site as necessary. (E)

    • Review Campus Life budget; prepare purchase orders and requisitions; maintain inventory of equipment, materials and suppliers. (E)

    • Type, edit and format a variety of complex documents, financial and statistical reports including graphs, charts and tables, using word processors or computers. (E)

    • Prepare and track invoices, and monitor assigned accounts, expenditures and revenues. (E)

    • Assist in preparing annual reports for the campus life area. (E)

    • Perform related duties as assigned.

    KNOWLEDGE OF:
    • Budget preparation and management.
    • Desktop publishing and the printing process
    • Techniques of fact-finding, interviewing concepts; advising techniques.
    • Parliamentary procedures and report writing.
    • Correct English usage, grammar, spelling, punctuation and vocabulary.
    • Oral and written communication skills.
    • Office management techniques.
    • Modern office practices, procedures and equipment.
    • Operations of office machines including computer equipment and specified software.
    • Applicable sections of the State Education Code and other applicable laws.

    ABILITY TO:
    • Perform the basic function of the position.
    • Communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
    • Advise and guide groups in organizational functions.
    • Ability to organize and prioritize work, with attention to detail.
    • Supervise student and other hourly workers and effectively communicate college and district procedures.

    Required Qualifications EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE : Any combination equivalent to: Associates degree in psychology, sociology, recreation administration, or a related field and two years of experience in a community agency, college, student activities, or residential life that initiates and administers student related or community services. Desired/Preferred Qualifications Physical Demands LICENSES AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS :
    Valid drivers’ license, Class C, and a clean DMV record
