DescriptionUnder general supervision, staff Wellness Center during scheduled programming hours and/or provide instruction for structured classes (art, gardening, etc.) upon approval by supervisor.
DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS
This is a temporary (not to exceed 960 hours), un-benefitted, part-time Wellness Center Associate. Incumbents learn and perform to host a variety of wellness programs. Incumbents will be trained and perform as ambassadors to Mono County Behavioral Health services by educating the public at outreach events and wellness programming on the services Mono County Behavioral Health offers to Mono County residents.
This job will be based out of Bridgeport with travel to outlying areas on an as-needed basis.

Examples of DutiesEXAMPLES OF IMPORTANT AND ESSENTIAL DUTIES

- Open Wellness Center for specific hours.
- Refer any person inquiring about mental health and/or substance use services to our offices located in Mammoth Lakes.
- Maintain and clean facilities between programming.
- Provide class(es)-after approval from supervisor
- Keep Wellness Calendar current and up to date.
- Create and distribute programming flyers.
- Collect required documentation and record per department protocol
Typical QualificationsKnowledge of:
- Services provided by Mono County Behavioral Health and other County departments and localorganizations
- Peer support for people living with mental illness
- Customer service skills
- General computer skills
Ability to:
- Make proper referrals to MCBH and/or other county agencies
- Triage “walk-in” requests
- Manage groups of people for class activities
- Follow all county, department, building and Wellness Center rules and regulations
- Communicate effectively and respectfully with the public
- Initiate and maintain required documentation
Training and Experience:
Any combination of training and experience which would provide the required knowledge and abilities listed above is qualifying.
TYPICAL PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Sit for extended periods; frequently stand and walk; normal manual dexterity and eye-hand coordination; lift and move objects weighing up to 25 lbs.; corrected hearing and vision to normal range; verbal communication; use of office equipment, including computer, telephone, calculator, copiers, and FAX
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Possession of a valid driver’s license;
- May work other than a normal 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. shift.
