    Overview

    The Victim Services Assistant Program Manager will provide counseling services to victims of crime, victim advocacy and provides information/ referral to victims of crime. They are responsible for maintaining VOCA grant compliance reports and documentation. They will supervise and coordinate counseling and social work interns.

    Responsibilities

    • Provide individual, group and family therapy. Use diagnostic treatment instruments to assist as needed with possible mental health diseases

    • Supervise student interns in providing counseling services to victims of crime

    • Conduct case management, advocate for victims, provide support for victims throughout the legal process

    • Attend and participate with counseling student interns in training and professional development as related to providing services to victims of crime

    • Maintain VOCA Grant

    • May be asked to perform other duties as assigned

    Position Type and Typical Hours of Work

    • Exempt - Full-Time

    • Non-rotating 40-hour work week, Monday - Friday, 8:00 am - 5:00 pm. Must be available to work additional hours as needed.

    • In the event of an emergency, employees are required to work to provide for the safety and well-being of the public, including the delivery and restoration of vital services.

    Minimum Qualifications

    • Graduate Degree (MS/ MA)

    • Six (6) months to one (1) year of experience

    Licenses and Certifications

    Required

    • A valid driver's license is required; successful out-of-state candidates must be able to obtain a valid Texas driver's license within 90 days of hire

    Required within 24 months of hire

    • Active License Professional Counselor (LPC) or LPC-Intern license within 30 days of hire

    Employment Testing

    Employment is contingent on passing any post-offer pre-employment screening as listed below:

    • Police Criminal Background Check: Yes

    • Motor Vehicle Record Check: Yes

    • Drug Screening: Yes

    • Physical Exam: Yes

    Basis of Rating

    A recruitment consultant will evaluate all applications against the posted qualifications. The city may also conduct additional skill assessment tests, in addition to the panel interview.
