    Currently, there is one full-time Recreation Coordinator vacancy at the Oasis Senior Center. This position will coordinate and provide essential social services to seniors. The ideal candidate possesses excellent customer service skills, the ability to work independently, and strong communication skills to support seniors through challenging situations by identifying needs and referring them to appropriate community resources.

    Selection Components:
    • Application Evaluation: Applications will be accepted on a continuous basis with the first review of applications on Wednesday, February 25, 2026, or at 150 applications- whichever occurs first. Candidates are required to submit a resume for the application package to be considered complete. The most qualified applicants will be invited to a virtual interview.
    • Virtual Interview: Tentatively scheduled for the week of March 16 , 2026 . Passing applicants will be placed on an eligibility list that may be used to fill future vacancies as they occur.

    Schedule: This position will work a 5/40 schedule.

    Retirement:

    The City offers an excellent benefit package and membership in the California Public Employees' Retirement System (CalPERS). The retirement formula is based on appointment date and membership status with CalPERS and the employee is required to contribute 8% or half the normal cost, whichever is higher, towards the retirement benefit.

    Experience & Education and License/Certificate

    A combination of experience and training that would likely provide the required knowledge and abilities may be qualifying. A typical way to obtain the knowledge and abilities would be:

    Experience: Two years of experience in developing programs and activities OR at least one year working directly with public recreation agency or program.

    Education: An associate's degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in recreation administration, human services and development, public administration, or a related field.

    License/Certificate: Due to the performance of some field duties which require the operation of a personal or City vehicle, a valid and appropriate California driver's license and an acceptable driving record are required.

The Council consists of the Mayor and six other members and is responsible for policy-making, passing local ordinances, adopting the budget, appointing committees and hiring the City Manager, City Attorney, and City Clerk. The City Manager is responsible for carrying out the policies and ordinances of the City Council, for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the City, and for appointing heads of departments.
