    DESCRIPTION

    These positions are “at-will” and non-benefited, and limited to 1,000 hours in a fiscal year (July 1st through June 30th). The salary and work schedule may vary based upon assignment.

    Available Positions May Include:
    • Referees
    • Umpires
    • Scorekeepers
    • Gym Supervisors

    What You’ll Do:
    • Officiate youth sports games and practices.
    • Enforce rules fairly and consistently.
    • Keep accurate scores, time, and game records.
    • Set up and take down fields, courts, and equipment.
    • Communicate with coaches, players, and spectators.
    • Promote sportsmanship and positive behavior.
    • Help ensure a safe, organized environment at all times.

    JOB REQUIREMENTS

    Qualifications:
    • Minimum age: 15 years old.
    • Knowledge of one or more sports (baseball/softball, soccer, basketball, volleyball, etc.).
    • Ability to make confident decisions and manage game flow.
    • Dependable, punctual, and team-oriented.
    • Comfortable working outdoors and evenings/weekends.
    • Training and rules clinics provided; prior experience preferred but not required.


    SELECTION PROCEDURE

    Applications must be filled out completely. Resumes submitted in lieu of completing an application will not be considered. Applications will be reviewed by a screening committee and those applicants who appear to be among the best qualified will be selected for the examination process. This process may include a variety of techniques designed to test applicants’ knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the duties and responsibilities of the job. All employment offers are subject to a City-paid background check.
