Job Summary Performs work in the construction, renovation, modification, installation, and repair of streets. Performs construction, pipe installation and cement work including laying curbs, streets, sidewalks; working on a variety of structures; and performing related work incidental to these tasks. Is required to work under adverse environmental conditions. Work is performed under the supervision of a higher classification and reviewed by direct observation, while in progress, and upon completion.
Minimum Qualifications: Utility Service Worker I: High School Diploma/G.E.D. Certificate. Must be able to read, write, and follow instructions. Six (6) months of experience in road construction, building construction, masonry, or related experience desired. Valid State of Florida Driver's License
required. Utility Service Worker II: High School Diploma/G.E.D. Certificate and
two (2) years of experience in road construction. Experience should include storm drain construction, or asphalt or brick construction, sidewalk, curb and miscellaneous concrete construction, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
Florida Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Class B or higher
required. Must be able to be reliably contacted by phone in case of an urgent work situation.
Progression from a Utility Service Worker I to a Utility Service Worker II will be based on related work experience.

- Two (2) years of direct experience for an associate degree;
- Four (4) years of direct experience for a bachelor's degree;
- Six (6) years of direct experience for a master's degree; or
- Nine (9) years of direct experience for a doctoral degree.
