Overview
The Maintenance Technician is responsible for diagnosing, maintaining, and performing repairs of all Airport facilities. This job requires the skills and ability to resolve issues by troubleshooting and diagnosing problems with electrical, HVAC, mechanical, fire detection, and suppression systems. Responsible for the operation, preventive maintenance, and repairs of various building systems, plumbing, carpentry, rental return carwash, associated equipment, and other duties as assigned. Must be able to relate to other people beyond receiving instructions by performing work activities requiring negotiating, instructing, informing, communicating with others, and responding appropriately and timely to tenant's requests.
Responsibilities
• Maintain all facilities by performing repairs to plumbing, lighting, fueling stations, car lifts, car wash bays, gate closures, motors, and locks
• Diagnose and repair inoperable equipment or materials in the terminal building and other buildings on airport property
• Utilize best practices for environmental compliance
• Complete plumbing repairs to include bathroom fixtures, water lines, faucets, water fountains, water heaters, aircraft and sanitary sewer lift stations and lines, sprinkler systems and potable water lines, fire suppression systems, and pumps
• Make repairs to sheetrock and other wall coverings including texturing. Performs basic cabinetry repairs, as well as patching, repairing, and cleaning
• Replace and seal window glass
• Install and repair doors, door jams, and lock sets
• Install ceiling grids and ceiling tiles
• Prepare interior and exterior surfaces and paint
• Perform escorts, customer assistance (tire changes and battery jumps) and staff assistance, perform special projects such as window, roof, sidewalk, and parking lot cleaning and repair
• May be utilized to address FAA Part 139 issues on the airfield including painting, mowing, and weed eating
• Act as a member of the airport emergency response team and perform cleanup of Foreign Object Debris (FOD)
• Required to operate scissor and articulating boom lifts, forklifts, mowers, skid steer loaders, and various power and hand tools
• Assist with maintaining indoor and outdoor areas by removing waste and ensuring restrooms, car wash bays, and offices are clean and well stocked with materials
• Ensure building materials, equipment, and protective covers are in good order to protect from destructive winds and corrosion
• Required to maintain landscaped areas around the facility as directed
• Perform other related duties and fulfill responsibilities as required
Position Type and Typical Hours of Work
• Non-Exempt - Full-Time
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays is a schedule requirement

Minimum Qualifications
• High School Diploma/GED
• Two (2) years of experience
Licenses and Certifications
Required
• A valid driver's license is required; successful out-of-state candidates must be able to obtain a valid Texas driver's license within 90 days of hire
Required within one (1) year of hire
• Certification to operate scissor and articulating boom lifts, forklifts, mowers, skid steer loaders

Basis of Rating
A recruitment consultant will evaluate all applications against the posted qualifications. The city may also conduct additional skill assessment tests, in addition to the panel interview.
