Overview Nutritionist II plans and conducts individual and group nutrition education activities for both children and adults. This position creates activities for education participation that include workshops and community garden programs. This position assures nutrition education compliance with federal and state agencies and attends outreach events for nutrition awareness.
Responsibilities • Teach group nutrition education, community garden education and activities
• Create curriculums for workshops for both children and adults and ensure guidelines are being followed
• Collect and submit data metrics regarding nutrition programming
• Create monthly and quarterly reports as well as a nutrition education calendar for workshops and outreaches
• Schedule and attend outreach events for nutrition education and program registrations
• Provide additional outreach support for health education
• Engage in leading the nutrition station for health education and outreach events, including supervising and overseeing assigned staff
• Coordinate and perform community outreach for the CCNCPHD and ensure educational material is accessible to the community
• Work with internal and external partners to coordinate nutrition education workshops and activities including scheduling, rentals, and community awareness
• Coordinate with community organizations and agencies to raise awareness of event opportunities
• Provide effective and clear written and oral communications to both internal and external partners and organizations, including letters, memos, and updates of events and activities
• Support the design and maintain a community garden including produce and florals
• Ensure proper care of garden
• Provide education on community garden efforts to internal and external partners and clients
Position Type and Typical Hours of Work • Exempt - Full-Time-Grant Funded- Monday-Friday 8:00am-5:00pm
• Must be available to work additional hours as needed
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays is a schedule requirement
• In the event of an emergency, employees are required to work to provide for the safety and well-being of the public, including the delivery and restoration of vital services

Minimum Qualifications • Bachelor's Degree (BA/BS) in Nutrition or related field
• Three (3) years of experience

Basis of Rating A recruitment consultant will evaluate all applications against the posted qualifications. The city may also conduct additional skill assessment tests, in addition to the panel interview
