Overview This position will support Public Works by assisting in providing survey data needed to evaluate the existing conditions of street projects as part of the Infrastructure Management Plan (IMP). Responsibilities include collecting data in the field such as measurements of points, elevations, lines and areas for construction purposes.
Responsibilities - Serves as a member of a survey team
- Provides key technical and field support for on-going planning and design projects, as well as active construction projects
- Visits to future project locations and collects data such as measurements of points, elevations, lines and areas for construction purposes
- This function requires driving to project locations as needed
- Perform survey calculations and provides elevation data
- Operates survey instruments such as level, transit, theodolite, electronic distance meter, total station and drone survey equipment
- Conducts field investigations as needed and/or directed for to gather information for staff
- May be asked to perform other duties as assigned
Position Type and Typical Hours of Work - Non-Exempt - Full-Time - Monday-Friday 8:00am-5:00pm
- Must be available to work additional hours as needed
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays is a schedule requirement
- In the event of an emergency, employees are required to work to provide for the safety and well-being of the public, including the delivery and restoration of vital services

Minimum Qualifications - High School Diploma / GED
- Two (2) years' experience
Licenses, Certifications, and Other Requirements Required - A valid driver's license is required; successful out-of-state candidates must be able to obtain a valid Texas driver's license within 90 days of hiring
- Proof of Automobile Liability Insurance

Basis of Rating A recruitment consultant will evaluate all applications against the posted qualifications. The city may also conduct additional skill assessment tests, in addition to the panel interview
