- Basic cataloging principles, MARC records and standards, metadata schema, and authority control.
- Windows operating systems, common office software, web browsers, productivity tools including AI, and Excel-based data manipulation. Knowledge of Linux, iOS, and other operating systems desired.
- Web content accessibility guidelines (WCAG) and best practices.
- Library discovery layers and patron-facing interface configuration.
- Troubleshooting principles for hardware and software in a public service environment.
- Best practices in digital resource management, user experience, and public library technology trends.
- Principles of data integrity, record maintenance, and workflow optimization.
- Excellent collaboration, communication, and customer service skills.
The Technology Coordinator manages the library’s integrated systems and digital operations in partnership with Town IT and Communications departments. This role ensures reliable technology infrastructure, maintains system data quality, and coordinates technical support for staff and patrons. As a Library Leadership Team member, the Coordinator serves as primary liaison for library technology systems, including hardware, software, website and user interfaces. Requires excellent analytical skills, customer service orientation, and commitment to user-centered service delivery.
