    The Missouri Department of Mental Health, Division of Behavioral Health, seeks an Associate Research/Data Analyst to join the Research and Statistics Unit domiciled in Jefferson City, Missouri. This position will be a part of a research staff focused on services related to mental health programs. This position is in a unit that serves all programs within the Division of Behavioral Health and participates in department-wide operational excellence initiatives.

    • Responsibilities:

      Position will assist in collecting, tabulating, and assembling data; provide research project and quality improvement support for other research staff and DBH staff. Candidates with experience in statistical analysis, Microsoft Access, Microsoft Excel, and Tableau are preferred. A background in mental health services or knowledge of mental health systems is also preferred but not required.

      The Research and Statistics unit is an integral part of the Division’s efforts to enable evidence-based review of programs and services provided by the Department of Mental Health and its community partners. Strong communication skills are required. This position will work as a part of a team of research staff to produce periodic and ad hoc reports, but it will be focused on services related to substance use and suicide prevention, crisis services, and diversion programs. This position is in a unit that serves all programs within the Division of Behavioral Health and participates in department-wide operational excellence initiatives.

      • Position will assist in collecting, tabulating, and reporting data.

      • Provide research project and quality improvement support for other research staff and DBH staff.

      • Produce periodic ad hoc reports.


    Required Qualifications:

    • Two or more years of relevant experience or education related to data collection, analysis, compilation, or tabulation.

    • Strong communication, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills are required.



    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Candidates with experience in statistical analysis, SQL, Tableau, Microsoft Access, and Microsoft Excel are preferred.

    • A background in mental health services or knowledge of mental health systems, along with experience using SSRS or SAS is also preferred, but not required.
