Alameda Municipal Power (AMP), California’s oldest community-owned electric utility and proudly 100% clean powered, is seeking an Electrical Equipment Superintendent to lead critical operations that ensure safe, reliable, and sustainable energy delivery to the community. This key leadership role oversees maintenance and operation of AMP’s electrical equipment, substations, and metering systems; directs high-voltage switching (up to 115kV) and SCADA operations; manages skilled field crews; and drives excellence in safety, compliance, and continuous improvement.
The ideal candidate is an experienced, hands-on utility professional with a strong technical background in power distribution, SCADA systems, and regulatory standards such as Cal OSHA, NERC, and NFPA 70E. A bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or a related field and professional certifications (PE, Certified Substation Technician, or Journey-Level Lineman/Electrician) are highly desirable. Candidates should have at least five years of progressively responsible experience in electric utility operations, including supervisory responsibilities.
