    Overview

    The Ranch Events Complex is seeking a dynamic, creative Senior Grant Writer to help fuel the future of Northern Colorado’s premier events destination. This role is at the heart of a multi-phase Master Plan, an ambitious expansion that will elevate our community spaces, youth programs, facilities, and entertainment venues.

    As our storyteller and strategist, you’ll research, write, and secure competitive grants that bring bold visions to life-connecting funders with projects that shape our region’s cultural and economic future.

    Responsibilities

    What you'll be doing:
    • Identify & Secure Funding: Research, analyze, and target grant funding sources that align with The Ranch’s priorities, including sports facilities, community spaces, youth
      development, agriculture, and tourism.
    • Strategic Grant Development: Lead the creation and execution of advanced grant strategies to maximize funding potential. This includes multi-agency collaborations,
      competitive proposal positioning, and diversification of funding portfolios.
    • Engage with Leadership: Partner with The Ranch’s leadership and Larimer County to proactively identify funding needs and align grant opportunities with the Ranch’s long-
      term goals.
    • Lead Complex Proposals: Manage complex, high-value grant applications from concept through submission. Ensure compliance with all funder guidelines and government
      regulations.
    • Storytelling & Advocacy: Develop persuasive narratives that showcase The Ranch as a community hub for Northern Colorado-balancing agriculture, youth programs, sports, entertainment, tourism, and economic growth.
    • Relationship Management: Build and maintain relationships with funders, foundations, agencies, and partners. Represent The Ranch at funder meetings, site visits, and
      community events.

    What we're looking for:
    • Grant Writing Expertise: Ability to craft persuasive, creative, and funder-focused proposals.
    • Strategic Planning: Skilled in building long-term funding strategies and aligning them with organizational growth.
    • Research & Analysis: Strong knowledge of funding databases, research methods, and data-driven proposal development.
    • Relationship-Building: Excellent interpersonal skills for collaborating with staff, community partners, and funders.
    • Organizational Strength: Ability to manage multiple deadlines and produce high-quality work under pressure.
    • Field Knowledge: Familiarity with event complexes, community development, or tourism funding landscapes is required.
    • Compliance Knowledge: Understanding of local, state, and federal grant requirements.
    • Independence & Initiative: Capable of working independently while serving as a collaborative team player with minimal supervision.


    Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree, or equivalent education, from an accredited college or university with a degree in Communications, Marketing, Business Administration, Public Administration, or a related field required. Equivalency is based on one (1) year of professional experience equaling one year of college work.
    • Five (5) years of experience in research or public administration, including experience in grant administration, grant management, grant coordination, obtaining funding for grants projects and programs, including at least two (2) years in a leadership or senior-level grant management role.
    • Possess reliable transportation to be able to work at various locations as needed and required.
    • Must be at least 18 years of age.

    Supplemental Information

    Please Note:
    The typical schedule for this position is Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The assignment is anticipated to last approximately five years.

    It is essential that the individual in this position fully immerse themselves in The Ranch’s Master Plan-its projects, planning, phases, and overarching vision. A deep understanding of the purpose and passion behind what we are building is critical to identifying, pursuing, and securing grant opportunities that truly align with our strategic initiatives and community impact goals.
