OverviewCrew member performing wildfire mitigation and education projects, environmental restoration, and landscape maintenance. Responsible for ensuring safety and compliance, and representing the program through community outreach and public education initiatives.
The anticipated schedule is 8 am - 4:30 pm, Monday-Friday. This temporary role is anticipated to run through mid-May 2026.
ResponsibilitiesWhat you'll be doing:
- Performing wildfire mitigation and environmental restoration.
- Operating light equipment, including chainsaws, brush chippers, wood splitters, etc.
- Participating in community events, meeting, and programs promoting services and building relationships with residents, businesses, and other agencies.
- Completing logs, incident reports, and other required documentation.
- Driving a multi-passenger vehicle and trailer.

What we're looking for:
- Certification as an S-212 Faller A by date of hire, Faller B preferred.
- First Aid Certification by date of hire, Wilderness First Aid preferred.
- Possession of a valid Driver's License by date of hire.
- Knowledge, skills, and experience with safe work practices, and conservation techniques.
- The ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other County employees, representatives of other agencies and organizations, and members of the community.
- Experience working in a team environment among a diverse group.

- Must be at least 18 years of age.
