PSCI 321: Making Public Policy - Position: Lecturer - Academic Year

The Department of Political Science and Global Affairs at California State University San Marcos seeks a part-time lecturer for Spring 2026 to teach PSCI 321: Making Public Policy.
Course Description: Analysis of the process of policy making in the United States, from problem identification through policy formulation, adoption, implementation and evaluation of impact. Analysis applied to areas such as social policy, health care and inequality.
Minimum qualifications: - A master's degree in political science

Preferred qualifications: - A doctorate in Political Science or related field
- Experience teaching in higher education in area of instruction
- Preference will be given to applicants with demonstrated commitment to diversity, inclusivity, and/or intercultural competence with diverse groups in relation to teaching.
Salary commensurate with degree level and experience - Anticipated Hiring Salary Range: $5,507 - $8,500 per full-time month
The salary schedule information for the Lecturer - Academic Year Classification is available based on the following ranges:
- CSU Classification Salary Range Lecturer A - AY: $5,507 - $6,677 per full-time month
- CSU Classification Salary Range Lecturer B - AY: $6,221 - $13,224 per full-time month
