Lead Customer Service Representative (Non-Supervisory)Business Tax Bureau- Excise Tax SectionDepartment of Revenue DOR VISION: To establish an environment that fosters confidence and trust by successfully utilizing technology, employing resources, and meeting customer needs HOW THIS POSITION SUPPORTS THE DEPARTMENT’S VISION: The Excise Tax team processes motor fuel, tobacco and financial institutions taxes and returns, as well as payments for county fees and insurance. Your efforts not only assist Missouri taxpayers with compliance, but your work can directly impact the distribution of tax funds to MO DOT and local city/county government/taxpayers.
DUTIES PERFORMED TO SUPPORT THE DEPARTMENT’S VISION: This description may not include all of the duties, knowledge, skills, or abilities associated with this title.
- Process daily, weekly and monthly motor fuel tax reports and perform reconciliations of collections and refunds.
- Review and update ACH agreements, banking instructions, mailing addresses etc. as needed to complete the monthly motor fuel tax distribution.
- Process motor fuel tax returns including the issuance of applicable billings, credits and refunds
- Process motor fuel tax audit confirmations
- Answer telephone calls and e-mail inquiries
- Prepare the monthly motor fuel tax (CART) distribution
- Participate in cross education of other tax distributions in the Excise Tax section
- Educate new employees in the section; and
- Any additional duties, as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS: - Thoroughness and accuracy in work production
- Self-motivated and ability to meet deadlines
- Possess high school diploma or high school equivalency certificate
- Four or more years of experience in licensing, registration, collections, tax preparation, tax processing, accounting, bookkeeping, auditing, or closely related work.
