    Mechanic I - $50.65- $61.56 Hourly

    $105,352.00 - $128,044.80 Annually

    Mechanic II - $56.73 - $68.95 Hourly

    $117,998.40 - $143,416.00 Annually

    Examples of Duties

    What you’ll do
    • Inspect, troubleshoot, maintain, and repair plant, shop, field, and construction equipment.
    • Perform preventive maintenance, overhauls, and equipment installations.
    • Contribute to a strong safety culture and responsive on-call rotation (when qualified).

    Level placement
    • Mechanic I: Semi-skilled, sub-journey work with training and progression.
    • Mechanic II: Journey-level diagnostics, repair, and PM on complex systems.
    • (Level depends on your qualifications.)


    Qualifications

    You bring
    • Mechanic I: Education/skills to follow written/oral instructions, keep records, perform shop math + 2 years semi-skilled mechanical maintenance/repair experience.
    • Mechanic II: High school (or equivalent) + recognized journey-level Maintenance/Plant Mechanic status.
    • Both levels: Valid CA Class C license/insurability; teamwork mindset; ability to work outdoors/overtime; basic CMMS & MS Office skills. Willing to join on-call rotation once proficient. Must obtain a Class B California Driver's license within one year.

    • Candidates whose scores on the Performance Test qualify them for further consideration will be invited to a Virtual Qualifications Appraisal Interview on Thursday, 11/20/2025.
    • Finalist interviews will be held on Wednesday, 12/3/2025 onsite.
    • All candidates must pass a background check, Live Scan fingerprinting which includes DOJ and FBI searches, DMV clearance, and pre-employment physical.

    • This is a fully benefited, project-funded role.
