    Job Location : 31 st Judicial Circuit in Greene County (Springfield, MO)

    The salary reflected represents the base pay for this position and does not include any differential for time-of-service pay for state tenure.

    Employment Information Specific to Greene County:

    The 31st Judicial Circuit in Greene County is seeking a qualified applicant to successfully fulfill the Domestic Division Supervisor role. Under the Circuit Court Classification Plan this position is classified as a Principal Court Clerk, which is an advanced position that carries expectations of successful performance with minimal supervision. Applicants must possess strong leadership skills with an insight to recognize the priorities and needs of his or her team that is comprised of eight to ten clerks.

    • Oversee day to day operations that facilitate the long-term stability and success of the team

    • Organize and maintain the assignment of job duties to ensure coverage of processing requirements in conjunction with four family court divisions

    • Orchestrate consistent and thorough plans for training and cross training staff

    • Learn SMC processing of all job duties with expectations to train subordinates

    • Organize and maintain the assignment of job duties for efficient coverage of processing requirements

    • Serve as the primary contact in fielding and answering a high volume of questions from staff

    • Communicate procedure and policy changes to the staff in a timely manner

    • Maintain accurate record of section time sheets

    • Prepare and administer employee performance reviews

    • Impartial and consistent enforcement of office policies and court operating rules

    • Perform additional duties as assigned or required

    This position may require alternate work schedules that are outside of normal business hours and on short notice; however, this position will rarely exceed a forty-hour work week. When and if, the actual work time does exceed forty hours, federal and state comp time are earned.

    Associate's Degree in a related field or at least 60 semester hours from an institution of higher learning and three years of varied administrative experience performing a wide range of technical office duties, one year of which in a supervisory capacity.

    Additional experience above the minimum stated may be substituted on a year for year basis for the required education.

    Applicants must be confident in their ability to successfully perform the outlined duties and responsibilities.

    In addition, all applicants must consent to and pass a criminal background check.

    EMPLOYEES MAY BE EXPOSED TO : Evidence and testimony that may be disturbing, such as photographs of violent scenes and victims and or sexually explicit material; evidence that may include syringes, drugs, weapons and blood; the public who may potentially be verbally or physically abusive, allergens, such as perfumes and dust; and unpleasant odors, such as unwashed clothing or chemicals offered into evidence.

    Preferred Qualifications

    • A comprehensive knowledge of court procedures, court terminology, legal documents, court operating systems, and the laws and legal factors pertaining to the court

    • Demonstrates a strong commitment to the position and a genuine dedication to supporting the success of the team

    • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively, while organizing heavy workloads in an environment that is subject to high stress and changing priorities

    • Ability to maintain a calm and positive demeanor while performing under higher demands and diverse circumstances

    • Proven success in addressing and resolving conflict

    • Communicates effectively, professionally, and respectfully with others

    • Exercises independent judgement in accordance to policies and procedures

    • Adheres to attendance standards with punctual arrival
