The Innovation and Technology Department (ITD) is seeking skilled
IT Applications Specialists to improve the efficiency of end-users by providing expert support for applications and reporting tools. This position plays a vital role in helping staff use technology more efficiently and supports ongoing improvements in business processes and IT systems.
This position requires candidates to possess strong technical and analytical skills with the capability to bridge the gap between business requirements and IT solutions.
Key responsibilities may include:
- Collaboration: Works closely with IT and development teams to understand user requirements, validate enhancements to application functionality, and implement software updates.
- User Training: User Training: Develops and delivers training for end-users on new and existing applications, creates user guides and documentation to facilitate effective use.
- Technical Support: Provides technical assistance and troubleshooting for application related issues, ensuring minimal downtime and efficient resolution of problems.
- Problem Solving: Analyzes user needs and provides solutions to improve business processes through effective application use.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT Pre-Employment Process: Applicants must successfully pass a background check and a job-related physical exam, including a drug test, prior to employment.
Shift: Some positions may require availability for night and swing shifts, weekends, and on-call, including holidays as needed.

Minimum Requirements Candidates must possess the required in order to qualify. REQUIRED EXPERIENCE: Two (2) years full-time equivalent experience supporting supporting business applications, including troubleshooting, assisting and instructing end-users in effective use, and resolving problems. Proficiency in advanced features of the Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook, is required.
Substitution: Thirty (30) semester/forty-five (45) quarter units of completed college course work from an accredited* college or university in information technology, business administration, or closely related field may substitution for up to one (1) year of the required experience. Candidates are required to list coursework their application. Applications will be disqualified if candidates fail to provide a list of coursework or a legible copy of the certificate(s).
*Education earned outside of the United States must be accompanied by an education equivalency report from a reputable credential evaluation service recognized by the United States Department of Education.
Desired QualificationsThe ideal candidate possesses:
- Bachelor's degree in information technology or computer science.
- Experience with Microsoft 365 and SharePoint Online.
- Experience working with Project Management platforms such as KeyedIn.
- Experience creating reports, managing tickets, and providing training.
