    Position Description
    Performs coordinative work in the business or administrative operation of a specific department or college. Responsibilities involve the coordination and supervision of the various functions and aspects of a department as well as the monitoring operational procedures. Work is performed under general supervision with evaluation based on results obtained. May supervise staff or student assistants.

    Major/Essential Functions
    • Prior Authorizations: Process and manage prior authorizations for subspecialty divisions to ensure timely completion and prevent delays in patient care.
    • Specialty Insurance Authorizations: Track and verify specialty insurance authorizations to avoid lapses in coverage. Update PCP and patient to ensure these authorizations are renewed in a timely manner.
    • Communication Management: Monitor division message boxes, ensuring timely responses to inquiries and urgent messages are directed to the appropriate RN or provider in accordance with policy guidelines.
    • Fax Processing: Review and process faxes/e-faxes promptly for assigned divisions.
    • Referrals & Scheduling: Assist with referral coordination to specialists, scheduling of diagnostic testing, laboratory services, and other provider-directed appointments.
    • Clinic Support: Provide assistance with room preparation, stocking, and cleaning during peak clinic hours or staffing shortages.
    • Collaboration: Professional collaboration with managed care and the coordinator team, along with clinical teams. Give progress status updates recurrently via EMR. May collaborate with Senior staff members and leadership to prioritize workload.
    • Opportunity for additional duties as assigned by supervisor.


    Required Qualifications
    Bachelor's degree plus two (2) years related experience; OR a combination of education and/or progressively responsible related experience to equal six (6) years.
