GENERAL DESCRIPTION :
Under the direction of the Branch Chief of Administration and Research, the Wildlife Division Business Analyst performs highly complex (senior-level) business analysis work and is responsible for ensuring that information technology (IT) solutions effectively support the business needs of the division. Primary job responsibilities focus on the development, implementation, maintenance, and enhancement of the Texas Wildlife Information Management Services (TWIMS), Land Management Assistance (LMA), Texas Hunt & Fish, and TPW Permitting applications. Consults on other IT systems as assigned. Partners with internal business units to review, assess, and create business processes. Gathers and documents user and system requirements. Works directly with internal and external IT teams to ensure delivery of required functionality. Oversees and conducts user acceptance testing; performs post-implementation support for systems; and supports the systems development life cycle. Works under limited supervision, with considerable latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment. Performs additional duties as assigned. Complies with all Agency, Division and Branch rules, regulations and procedures.
Qualifications: MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS :
Education :
Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's degree.
Experience :
Two years of experience performing business analysis or computer systems analysis work for business applications.
Licensure :
Must possess or be able to obtain, within 30 days of employment, a valid state driver's license.
NOTE : Retention of position contingent upon obtaining and maintaining required license.
ACCEPTABLE SUBSTITUTIONS :
Experience :
Two years of experience performing work related to implementation of regulatory programs or implementing business processes controlled by statute, regulation, or other formal procedural documentation that can be verified may substitute for one year of the required experience.

Experience working in an information technology environment performing computer system analysis, requirements gathering for web and mobile applications.

WORKING CONDITIONS :
Required to work from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.
Required to work overtime as necessary.
Required to travel 25% with possible overnight stays.
Required to operate a state vehicle.
