Workdays & Hours: Monday-Sunday, All Shifts, days and Holidays. DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES / ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Municipal Courts currently has full-time employment opportunities available for Customer Service Representatives in their Court Operations Division who are self-motivated, customer service oriented, pay attention to detail, and possess strong organizational skills. As an official of the Court, your responsibilities may include the following:
- Courtroom support of assigned Judge.
- Review and process of daily dockets, entry of judicial decisions and court actions into Court’s case management system.
- Accurate performance of case initiation data entry and case maintenance functions on citation information entered into case management system including coding and researching records.
- Provide professional level of customer service by utilizing efficient problem-solving to address customer concerns and inquiries.
- Quality Control review case data and scanned documents, taking appropriate action to ensure case information is correct and complete before generating and filing required documents for case adjudication.
- High level of direct contact with the general public, attorneys, court staff and law enforcement.
- Scanning of court documents into Court’s Case management system.
- Must be willing to submit to annual background checks.
- Other administrative and customer service-related responsibilities as assigned.
WORKING CONDITIONS General office setting. May require long periods of standing or sitting at a computer terminal and interacting with citizens in person and also by telephone. Must be able to work weekends and/or holidays as needed. Must be able to travel to another location on short notice
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS EDUCATION REOUIREMENTS Requires a high school diploma or a GED.
EXPERIENCE REOUIREMENTS Six (6) months of administrative or customer service-related experience is required.
Substitution:
An associate’s degree may be substituted for up to two years of experience.
LICENSE REOUIREMENTS None
PREFERENCESPreferences will be given to candidates with heavy customer service experience; prior court, legal or paralegal experience as well as knowledge of court policies and procedures is a plus. Experience in Windows and Microsoft office environment (Word, Excel, Outlook).
**Preference shall be given to eligible veteran applicants provided such persons possess the qualifications necessary for competent discharge of the duties involved in the position applied for, such persons are among the most qualified candidates for the position, and all other Factors in accordance with Executive Order 1-6. GENERAL INFORMATION SELECTION / SKILLS TESTS REOUIRED None; however, the department may administer, and the applicant must successfully complete a skills-assessment relevant to job description.
