Job Summary Performs administrative and professional work managing comprehensive programs for the development and maintenance of municipal parks, neighborhood centers and recreation programs and facilities. Responsibilities include the planning, design, construction, and maintenance of public parks and recreation areas, and the operation of neighborhood centers and recreation programs and facilities. Work is performed under the direction of the Families, Parks and Recreation (FPR) Deputy Director. Performance is reviewed through conferences, reports submitted, and evaluation of Division accomplishments.
Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in Parks Administration, Horticulture, Recreation, Public Administration, Human Services or a related field plus five (5) years of progressively responsible supervisory experience in planning, constructing and operating municipal parks, neighborhood centers and recreation facilities
required; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. Valid Driver's License
required. Florida Recreation and Park Association (FRPA) Professional Park and Recreation Administrator Certification preferred.

If this posting indicates a degree is required, the following experience will apply in lieu of any degree as follows:
- Two (2) years of direct experience for an associate degree;
- Four (4) years of direct experience for a bachelor's degree;
- Six (6) years of direct experience for a master's degree; or
- Nine (9) years of direct experience for a doctoral degree.
