    Salary:

    Payroll Specialist I: $20.28 - $25.86

    Payroll Specialist II: $21.41 - $27.305

    Payroll Specialist III: $22.61 - $28.83

    Performs advanced paraprofessional work with responsibility for advanced payroll calculations and fiscal functions. Processes bi-weekly payroll and off-cycle payroll. Responsible for maintaining employee profiles within the Time and Attendance system. Provides employee, supervisor, and vendor with payroll-related functions and procedures. Work is performed under the supervision of the Payroll Manager.

    Minimum Qualifications:

    Payroll Specialist I: Associate's Degree in Accounting, Bookkeeping, or related field and two (2) years in-house payroll processing experience, to include experience in data entry, Microsoft Office (Excel, Word), and Adobe; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. Must be able to operate a personal computer. Must pass police background investigation which includes polygraph. Specific knowledge in Kronos and Workday highly desired.

    Payroll Specialist II: Associate's Degree in Accounting, Bookkeeping, or related field with three (3) years in-house payroll processing experience, to include experience in data entry, Microsoft Office (Excel, Word), and Adobe; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. Must be able to operate a personal computer. Must pass police background investigation which includes polygraph. Specific knowledge in Kronos and Workday highly desired.

    Payroll Specialist III: Associate's Degree with major coursework in Accounting or Business and four (4) years in-house payroll processing experience, to include experience in data entry, Microsoft Office (Excel, Word), and Adobe; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. Must be able to operate a personal computer. Must pass police background investigation which includes polygraph. Specific knowledge in Kronos and Workday highly desired.

    Additional Qualifications for Promotion:

    Promotions are not to be considered an automatic function of longevity and are subject to the review and authorization of the Supervisor. The employee’s last performance review must have resulted in an overall rating of Meets standards or better with no factor rating of less than meets.

    If this posting indicates a degree is required, the following experience will apply in lieu of any degree as follows:
    • Two (2) years of direct experience for an associate degree;
    • Four (4) years of direct experience for a bachelor's degree;
    • Six (6) years of direct experience for a master's degree; or
    • Nine (9) years of direct experience for a doctoral degree.
