Duties include assessing organizational needs and computing resources; monitoring and managing server and network infrastructure in a data center environment; assessing and evaluating configurations to optimize systems; developing system security standards; researching and procuring hardware/software; managing hardware/software maintenance and licensing renewals; serving as project manager for technology projects; and creating and maintaining technical documentation.

Travel: Travel throughout the County may be required. E mployees will be required to make provisions for transportation. Mileage reimbursement may be available.
Availability: Incumbents may occasionally work evening and weekend hours. Some overtime, on-call, or call back work may be required.

Minimum Requirements Candidates must meet the following requirements: EDUCATION: Thirty (30) semester (45 quarter) units of completed college coursework from an accredited institution** in computer science, business/public administration, or closely related field. Transcripts must be attached to the application if the candidate does not possess a completed associate's degree or above in a qualifying field of study.
Education Substitution: Additional qualifying experience may substitute for the education requirement on the basis of six (6) additional months of experience for fifteen (15) semester (23 quarter) units, up to thirty (30) semester (45 quarter) units.
-AND-EXPERIENCE: Four (4) years of full-time equivalent experience performing systems operations support on any of the following:
- Windows System Administration to include maintaining and troubleshooting Windows Active Directory, Windows Server 2016 and later
- Database Administration on MS SQL Server 2016 and later
- Administration of Network Infrastructure, such as switches
- Administration of Enterprise Storage and Backup Solutions
- Administration of a Virtual Machine (VM) Environment
Qualifying experience must be clearly described in the work experience section of your application for consideration. Failure to clearly demonstrate experience in qualifying areas may result in disqualification. **Note: Qualifying coursework must be completed at a college or university accredited by any accrediting association recognized by the United States Department of Education. Coursework completed outside the U.S. must be accompanied with an evaluation report from a reputable credential evaluation service showing equivalency to degrees or coursework completed at a college or university accredited by any accrediting association recognized by the United States Department of Education.
Desired QualificationsCandidates with the following knowledge and experience are highly desired :
- Knowledge of IRS Publication 1075 Federal Security Guidelines
- Knowledge of NIST 800-53 SP Standards for protection of FTI in its digital forms
- Experience with addressing and remediating findings from a Security and Compliance technical audit
