THE POSITIONThe City of Rancho Cordova is seeking an
Events Attendant to serve the community of Rancho Cordova. We are looking for a team member who is passionate about delivering customer service, motivated, willing to learn new tasks and who can excel in a fast-paced environment.
This position requires exceptional customer service to assist both internal and external customers with the rental of City facilities for events such as, business lunches, presentations, family reunions, and other events. This includes opening and closing of facilities for daytime, evening and weekend rentals; set-up of rooms and AV equipment, monitoring facility use; clean-up of facilities and grounds, stocking supplies, cleaning and sanitizing, and providing information to customers regarding facility use.

NOTE: E vents Attendant positions are designated as temporary and limited to working under 1,000 hours in a fiscal year (July 1 - June 30), and no more than 25 hours per week. Employees work varying schedules to include nights, weekends, and holidays.

EXAMPLES OF ESSENTIAL DUTIESThe following duties are typical for this classification. Incumbents may not perform all the listed duties and/or may be required to perform additional or different duties from those set forth below to address business needs and change business practices.
- Assists in execution of events including, but not limited to business meetings, weddings, conferences, community events and celebrations.
- Prepares, maintains, and cleans-up facility for and after use by customers, which includes setup according to reservation and customer specifications, monitoring of facility use by customers and their guests, addressing safety concerns or inappropriate conduct with customers, taking down tables, chairs, equipment, stage, and other furniture and equipment used in an event, and cleanup after an event.
- Acts as a facility liaison for events on weekends and during the evenings.
- Inspects assigned event spaces and/or equipment and recommends any necessary repair or maintenance work and supply needs.
- Stocks and monitors supplies in break rooms, employee restrooms, and conference rooms.
- Performs light janitorial, including empty recycling and garbage bins throughout the facility, sweeps, mops, and vacuums floors as necessary.
- Escorts vendors or suppliers in facilities.
- Uses a computer to enter and retrieve data, and produce signage, emails, and reports of damage to equipment or facility.
- Performs related duties as assigned

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS GUIDELINES Any combination of education and experience that would likely provide the required knowledge and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the knowledge and abilities would be :
Education :- Equivalent to the completion of a high school diploma
Experience :
License or Certification :- Possession of a valid California driver's license
