Job Description:Performs semi-skilled work involving general maintenance and repair of wastewater collection systems, facilities, and grounds. Performs a variety of tasks involving above-average physical effort and operation of power tools and equipment requiring some manipulative skills. Frequently exposed to chemicals, noxious fumes, raw sewage, raw garbage, and extreme weather conditions. Assists the Wastewater Technician Senior that is assigned to stop sewer mains. Work is assigned and carried out according to oral and written instructions, usually from an assistant supervisor or field supervisor. Work is reviewed while in progress and upon completion through direct observation, meetings, and review of work orders to ensure quality and timeliness.
Minimum Qualifications:High School Diploma/G.E.D. Certificate. At least one (1) year experience in public works (i.e., construction, maintenance, and/or repair of reclaimed water infrastructures including the use of tools and equipment used in construction, maintenance, and repair work); or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. Must obtain and maintain a security clearance and GOAA I.D. badge within ninety (90) days of hire date. Must be able to read, write, and follow instructions. Some positions may be required to pass an annual respirator physical; no facial hair allowed between the face and sealing surface of the respirator face plate. Some positions may require a valid Florida Driver's License and home phone or cell phone.

If this posting indicates a degree is required, the following experience will apply in lieu of any degree as follows:
- Two (2) years of direct experience for an associate degree;
- Four (4) years of direct experience for a bachelor's degree;
- Six (6) years of direct experience for a master's degree; or
- Nine (9) years of direct experience for a doctoral degree.
