Part-time position available with the Parks and Recreation Department, Community Services Division, located at 8200 The Paseo Blvd.
Salary Range: $17.35-$26.47/hour
Normal Work Days/Hours: Monday-Saturday 2:00 p.m.-6:00 p.m. *Hours will vary

Responsibilities
Plans, organizes, and implements a variety of health and wellness programs and events. This position is responsible for developing innovative recreation activities, promoting community engagement, and ensuring the smooth operation of programs and facilities. The ideal candidate will be passionate about fostering a healthy, active, and inclusive community environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plans, organizes, and leads assigned recreation activities in health and wellness, including group exercise, yoga, Zumba, Silver Sneakers, mobility training, personal training, nutrition education, and healthy living initiatives.
- Promotes community center programs and services through various channels, including social media, brochures, and other marketing materials.
- Assists in the implementation of the division's marketing plan to increase participation and awareness of recreation offerings.
- Prepares and distributes class schedules, program information, and promotional materials to the community.
- Oversees the setup and breakdown of tables, chairs, equipment, and supplies for programs and events.
- Maintains and inspects recreation equipment and materials.
- Ensures proper inventory management and stocks deliveries.
- Assists the supervisor in developing and manages program budgets.
- Maintains accurate records and prepares reports on program effectiveness, participation, and financial expenditures.
- Responds to public inquiries and provides information about recreational programs and services.
- Analyzes customer feedback and resolves issues in a timely and professional manner.
Qualifications
REQUIRES six (6) months of experience in community recreation, sports instruction, arts education, or related programming (e.g., coaching, teaching art or music). May be required to possess a valid state-issued driver's license in accordance with the City of KCMO policies. Must pass a preemployment drug screen as prescribed by the City.

Positions requiring a high school diploma/GED certificate must be obtained from a school/program accredited by the Department of Education and recognized by the U.S. Secretary of Education.
The minimum education requirement for positions that allow for experience equivalency for an accredited degree is a high school diploma. Unless otherwise specified, an accredited degree must be obtained from a college or university listed with the U.S. Department of Education and recognized by the U.S. Secretary of Education.
For positions with a salary grade of EX6 or higher that require an accredited degree, qualifying professional experience must be obtained AFTER the accredited degree is obtained.
Successful completion of a pre-employment criminal history/background check is required for all positions. Some positions require a post offer drug screen and/or physical.
If appointed, non-residents must obtain residency inside Kansas City, Missouri's city limits within nine months.
