    Key Responsibilities:

    As the Customer Service and Safe Ride Analyst, you’ll oversee essential programs that support daily campus life, including:
    • Parking Permits & Citation Appeals: Serve as the lead for a dedicated team that manages parking services with professionalism and empathy. You’ll provide guidance, resolve complex issues, and ensure a smooth, respectful experience for all.
    • Safe Ride Program: Take charge of SDSU’s on-demand shuttle service, ensuring timely, safe, and reliable transportation for students and staff, especially during late hours.
    • Customer Experience: Be the go-to problem solver for unique or challenging situations. You’ll balance policy with compassion to deliver exceptional service and build trust with the campus community.
    • Operational Excellence: Develop and maintain clear standard operating procedures, team handbooks, and internal policies that support consistency, efficiency, and accountability.

    Position Information
    • This is a full-time (1.0 time-base), benefits eligible permanent/probationary position.
    • This position is designated exempt under FLSA and is not eligible for overtime compensation.
    • Work hours are Monday - Friday, 11:00 a.m. to 7:30 p.m., but may vary based on operational needs.
    • This position is approved for partial telecommuting with onsite work in San Diego.

    Department Summary

    Parking & Transportation Services (PATS) is a department in the division of Safety and Community Empowerment in Business and Financial Affairs. PATS employs 18 professional staff and a team of 25+ student assistants.

    PATS provides comprehensive mobility services, solutions, and planning for the SDSU community. We employ a diverse team of professionals who coordinate and deliver parking, transit, micro-mobility, car sharing, vanpooling, microtransit and other transportation needs. Our staff provide information and customer service to our campus community for parking permits, citation appeals, the Safe Driver program and overall support for our parking management database used by our community for managing their parking accounts. PATS manages many vendor contracts in order to deliver services efficiently, affordably, and professionally.

    Education and Experience

    Entry to this classification requires general knowledge and skills in the applicable administrative and/or program field with a foundational knowledge of public administration principles, practices, and methods.

    This foundation would normally be obtained through a bachelor's degree and/or equivalent training and administrative work experience involving study, analysis, and/or evaluation leading to the development or improvement of administrative policies, procedures, practices, or programs.

    Key Qualifications
    • Bachelor’s Degree is preferred.
    • 3-5 years in customer service, sales, and other administrative roles is preferred.
    • Parking, Transportation, and Mobility Profession (PTMP) Certification is preferred.
    • Experience managing microtransit and/or shuttle services is preferred.
    • Experience in parking enforcement, citation adjudication, and parking permitting is preferred.
    • Experience recruiting, training, and coordinating student assistant work is preferred.
    • Knowledge of California Vehicle Code regulations for parking citations, ADA.
    • Ability to learn, interpret, and apply a wide variety of policies and procedures relating to and impacting the applicable program, organizational unit, and/or administrative specialty.

    Compensation and Benefits

    Starting salary upon appointment is not expected to exceed $6,000 per month.

    Salary placement is determined by the education, experience, and qualifications the candidate brings to the position, internal equity, and the hiring department’s fiscal resources.

    CSU Classification Salary Range: $4,598 - $8,318 per month.
