OVERVIEWJoin our team as a Stormwater Education Specialist to lead environmental education initiatives for schools and youth throughout Kitsap County. This role combines educational expertise with environmental stewardship to deliver impactful stormwater education programs.
As a Stormwater Education Youth Programs Analyst, you will:- Program Development: Create curriculum, in-school lessons, after-school STEM events, and field trip programs aligned with Washington State Education Standards
- Event Coordination: Lead planning and delivery of major community programs including Salmon in the Classroom, Kitsap Water Festival, and Salmon Tours
- Program Delivery: Teach students and community members through hands-on educational experiences
- Partnership Management: Collaborate with school districts, teachers, regional partners, and community organizations
- Program Evaluation: Assess program effectiveness and implement improvements based on evaluation results
What you will bring:- Bachelor's degree in education or related field and three years of progressively responsible experience in education that will include:
- Seasoned education professional with deep knowledge of Washington State Education Standards
- Technical expertise in stormwater management and environmental science
- Strong curriculum development and instructional design skills
- Experience coordinating multi-stakeholder community events
- Excellent communication and partnership-building abilities

Vacation Leave New employees are credited with 48 hours of annual leave upon hire and will be begin accruing at the rate of 8 hours per month starting on their 7th month of employment. Employees may carry over 360 hours from one calendar year to the next. Annual leave accrual will increase upon tenure, as follows:
Upon completion of 2 years: 15 days per year (10.00 hours per month)
Upon completion of 5 years: 20 days per year (13.33 hours per month)

Sick LeaveAll new hires will be credited with 48 hours of sick leave upon hire and will begin accruing at the rate of 8 hours per month starting on their 7th month of employment. Employees may carry over 1200 hours from one calendar year to the next.
