The JobArrowhead Regional Medical Center (ARMC) is recruiting for a
Lead Social Service Practitioner. This advanced, lead worker provides diagnosis, assessment, intervention, and case management support to individuals, groups, children and/or families with complex health, psychosocial, or economic problems. Leads are distinguished by specialized Social Service Practitioner duties that include training and mentoring Social Workers and Social Service Practitioners, as well as assisting Supervising Social Service Practitioners with supervisory functions.

ARROWHEAD REGIONAL MEDICAL CENTER Located on a beautiful 70-acre campus in Colton, California (50 miles east of Los Angeles), Arrowhead Regional Medical Center (ARMC) is a state-of-the-art, public/nonprofit, 456-bed, university affiliated teaching hospital licensed by the State of California Department of Public Health and accredited by The Joint Commission. The hospital houses a regional burn center serving four counties (San Bernardino, Riverside, Mono and Inyo), a comprehensive stroke center, level I trauma center and a freestanding in-patient behavioral health center. Additionally, ARMC operates five community-based, primary care clinics and over 40 specialty care outpatient services. ARMC is the primary teaching hospital for the adjacently located California University of Science and Medicine (CUSM), the Inland Empire's newest medical school.

Pre-Employment Process: Applicants selected for these positions must pass a background investigation, physical, and verification of employment history and education.
Shift Availability: ARMC is a twenty-four-hour facility; some shifts include weekends and holidays. Applicants
must be available for all shifts (Day, Swing, Night, Rotating, Weekends, and Holidays). Shift differentials are provided.

Minimum RequirementsCandidates must meet
both of the following:
EXPERIENCE: Two (2) years of experience, all of which must have been obtained within the last five (5) years, in a
medical setting performing duties equivalent to a journey-level Social Service Practitioner in San Bernardino County. Equivalent experience must include performing complex social work assignments, comprehensive diagnostic assessments, in-depth clinical intervention, and treatment plans.
NOTE: Experience as a Social Worker II or Social Service Practitioner I is not considered qualifying.
-AND-EDUCATION: A Master's degree in Social Work from a school accredited by the Council on Social Work Education
-OR- a Master's degree in Human Services, Psychology, or Counseling with an emphasis in marriage, family, children, or a closely related field.

Desired QualificationsThe ideal candidate:
- Has considerable knowledge of human behavior and its practical application
- Understands the medical, economic, and psychosocial issues impacting the patients served
- Has knowledge of the laws, rules, and regulations governing Medical Center clinical social work, as well as having a current knowledge of community and public resources available to meet the patients' needs as determined
- Understands age specific and growth-related issues of our patients; can plan, develop, and implement a comprehensive plan of treatment for persons with differing social, ethnic, and cultural values
- Communicates effectively with internal Medical Center staff and external patient(s) and/or families. Acts as a consultant and trainer to Clinical Social Work staff and Clinical Social Work Interns, as able.
