Job Location: This position will be located within the Missouri State Treasurer's Office at Harry S. Truman Building, 301 W. High St, Jefferson City, MO 65101.

- Provides technical assistance in the preparation of annual program budgets; prepares detailed budgetary reports based upon projected level of activities; assists with cost projections.
- Reviews, evaluates and analyzes expenditures and budget requests; provides recommendations to meet financial objectives and assists with preparation of budget proposals.
- Reviews and approves the processing of documents.
- Prepares, develops and implements cost allocation plans.
- Prepares and reviews financial information requested. Responds to audits, corrective action plans and monitors the progress. Reviews data and prepares fiscal notes in response to legislative requests.
- Analyze, develop, and interpret data and reports.
- Oversees/manages a third party auditor to review program financial and operational statutory requirements.
- Exercises considerable independence, judgment, and initiative in the performance of assignments within the established policies and procedures; receives general administrative direction.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Key Skills - Intermediate knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and methods, and the ability to apply and adapt established methods to varied accounting problems.
- Intermediate knowledge of conceptual principals and applied practices of governmental accounting.
- Intermediate knowledge of state and federal laws, rules and regulations governing the expenditure and reporting of state and federal funds.
- Ability to research accounting issues and apply appropriate standards to financial transactions and statements.
- Ability to prepare and maintain accurate and detailed financial records and reports.
- Ability to communicate effectively and present financial data.
Minimum Qualifications - Two or more years of Accounting experience.
Preferred Qualifications - A Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Accounting or a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with a minimum of 24 earned credit hours in Accounting and
- Three or more years of professional experience in business or governmental accounting.
