This position is with the Missouri Department of Natural Resources, Division of State Parks, and will be located at
Knob Noster State Park, 873 SE 10 Road, Knob Noster, MO 65336. This position typically works Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. with a 30-minute lunch break.
- Provide Administrative Office Support and Receptionist duties to include, but not limited to, answering the telephone, visitor public relations, mail circulation, and vendor contacts for Knob Noster State Park, the West section of Katy Trail State Park, and the West Section of Rock Island State Park.
- Assist customers with camping reservations, retail sales, and general phone/email inquiries.
- Record keeping, including but not limited to, keeping a complex filing system up to date to include set up, organization, sorting, retention, and purging as needed of reports, personnel records, purchasing documents and accounts payable functions, etc.
- Operation of office equipment such as phone switchboard; fax machines; copy machines; cash register; and computer.
- Process purchasing and financial documents and invoices, and maintain and monitor budgets.
- Prepare, track, and submit reports according to specific deadlines.
- Review and submit personnel forms.
- Assist in keeping office clean and organized.
- Typing, often technical in nature, and working from oral, written, and rough draft documents.

- Ability to operate a computer with a general proficiency in Microsoft Office (Microsoft 365, Adobe, etc)
- Ability to communicate effectively and professionally in person and with written correspondence
- Ability to maintain professional confidentiality
- Ability to stay organized and manage time effectively
- Ability to operate a vehicle and maintain a valid vehicle operator’s license.
- Ability to travel to conduct state business away from site, occasionally overnight to attend meetings, training, and conferences.
- Ability to provide and follow directions.
- Ability to work independently and in accordance with agency policies, rules, or procedures.
- Willingness to learn new systems, programs, and skills
- Compliance with random drug and alcohol testing, if required.
- Ability to obtain MSP Fire Training, S-130, and S190 fire training certification for controlled fires.
- Ability to obtain CPR, First Aid, and AED certification.
- Training, certification, and/or education in continuous process improvement programs such as Lean Six Sigma as well as completion of Missouri Way, Leadership Academy, and similar programs is preferred.
