POSITION Under immediate supervision, performs administrative, financial, statistical, and other management analyses supporting department/division activities and functions.

TASKS - Prepares and reviews agenda items, budget changes, payroll, and other administrative functions for compliance with department policies and procedures;
- Compiles and analyzes statistical data to develop a conclusion and make recommendations to internal and external agencies;
- Identifies alternative funding sources and prepares grant applications, consults with department management, and formulates and develops recommendations to write reports.
- Assists with the analysis and revision of administrative procedures, forms, and reports to increase their effectiveness; monitors compliance with administrative guidelines;
- Composes correspondence and prepares reports; writes public relations material; assists in the preparation of annual reports and similar publications;
- Administers grant funding and drafts all required documentation;
- Prepares, reviews, and monitors contracts/agreements, and ensures general and legal compliance;
- Reviews Budget and purchase requests and may assist with the collection of information for yearly budget preparation;
- Provide a wide variety of administrative support and financial analyses to the department as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor's Degree from a four-year accredited college and university AND two (2) years progressively responsible experience in finance/grant/legislative research and analysis producing informational reports or an equivalent combination of experience and education. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND OTHER CHARACTERISTICS - Knowledge of principles, practices, and administrative and organizational analysis, public administration principles and practices; Financial/statistical/comparative analysis techniques and formulae, basic budgetary, payroll principles, and training; and supervisory principles and practices.
- Skilled in analyzing administrative, operational, and organizational problems, evaluating alternatives and reaching sound conclusions; collecting, evaluating, and interpreting varied information and data; interpreting and applying laws, regulations, policies, and procedures; preparing clear, concise, and complete reports and other written materials;
- Ability to c onduct research and analyze data; to design and implement workflow systems, operate a computer with proficiency and familiarity, provide technical guidance to others on a day-to-day/project basis, coordinate multiple projects and meet critical deadlines, exercise sound independent judgment to resolve day to day operational or technical issues, and communicate effectively orally and in writing.
- Proficient in the use of a variety of computer applications commonly found in a modern office environment, including standard desktop office applications such as the Microsoft Office Suite, fiscal/budget, content management, and resource databases;
THE EXAMINATION PROCESS begins with a complete review of all applications and resumes submitted for consideration. Only applicants determined to be "

The examination process may consist of one or more of the following test parts: (1) Writing Exercise, (2) Academic Training & Experience Evaluation, or (3) Qualifications Appraisal Interview. Candidates must pass each test part with a 70% score or higher to have their name placed on the active eligibility list for this position.
The top three ranking individuals shall be invited to a Background Investigation Interview, a comprehensive police investigation that may include a credit review, polygraph, character reference check, and a psychological and physical medical examination .
A selection will be made from candidates in the top three rankings of the eligibility list that pass the Police Background process and who are ready, willing, and able to accept the position. Eligible candidates who are not selected, their names will be returned to the eligibility list for future consideration with other departments within the City when feasible.
