The City of Edmond, through its workforce of approximately 917 full time employees, provides a full range of services to the community including police, fire, emergency management, electric, water, wastewater, and solid waste.

  • Job Description

    Edmond is seeking a City Manager to be responsible for implementing policies set by the City Council, preparing and submitting a balanced financial plan, overseeing the daily operations of city departments, ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, and facilitating communication between the City Council, city staff, and the public. The City Manager plays a crucial role in strategic planning and community engagement, and takes a lead role in addressing community concerns, fostering a collaborative environment among city staff, and ensuring that the city's operations align with its long-term goals, strategic vision, objectives, and continuous growth and success. Reporting directly to the City Council, the City Manager manages a fiscal year 2025 budget of $454 million. 

    The City of Edmond offers an attractive total rewards program that includes a starting pay in the $215,000 to $235,000 range. Additionally, the City offers a competitive benefits package that includes health insurance, 12 annual paid holidays, vacation and sick leave, and a pension plan requiring a 6% employee contribution, matched by an 11.94% City contribution, along with a supplemental 457(b) retirement program.

  • Job Requirements

    A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in business administration, public administration, political science, or a closely related field and a minimum of ten (10) years closely related experience is required. A Masters Public Administration, at least five (5) years leadership experience (department director, assistant city manager or city manager or comparable experience) and International City/County Management Association (ICMA) credentials is desired.
