RoleUnder general supervision, performs work of moderate difficulty in the Voter Registration process.
Major Duties, Responsibilities- Performs specialized clerical and office duties maintaining and processing voter data using a statewide database complying with Federal and State Election Laws.
- Compiles and disseminates correspondence, processes responses, assigns voter status, and appropriately sorts, files, indexes, and retrieves documents. Responsible for proper document preservation and destruction.
- Analyzes and verifies signatures on returned early ballots, candidates, and initiative petitions and clean election E-Qual Slips.
- Performs research, creates, and maintains a street index for use in the election process with the use of GIS applications, Arc map, or other resources.
- Provides information to the public in person, email and/or by telephone by answering questions, explaining procedures, and interpreting statutes.
- Assists military and oversees voters in the voting process by electronic upload, email, or fax.
- Trains and assists temporary employees during the Federal Election cycles.
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
Minimum QualificationsEducation: High school diploma or equivalent.
Experience: A minimum of one (1) year of general office and/or customer service experience.
Additional Requirements: Must possess a valid Arizona driver’s license.
Must be a registered voter of Yavapai County. Must be able to pass background check.
Must successfully complete a handwriting analysis class.
Must successfully complete and maintain State of Arizona Elections Certification.

Ability to:- Work evenings, weekends, holidays, and off-hours during the Election Cycle.
- Develop and maintain effective working relationships with associates, employees of other departments, representatives of other organizations, County officials, and the public.

- Remain current in knowledge required to perform assigned duties.
- Handle confidential matters and maintain discretion always.
- Work professionally and effectively with co-workers, clients, victims of crime, witnesses, and the general public.
- Act with courtesy, tact, and diplomacy.
Work Environment:The work environment is associated with an office. The work area is adequately lighted, heated or cooled and ventilated.
Physical Requirements:Ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time. Sufficient vision to read printed materials and a computer screen; hearing and speech ability to communicate effective in-person and telephonically. Capable of frequent repetitive movement of arms, fingers, and wrists. Ability to lift up to 30 pounds.
