    Student Services Professional IV

    *** Temporary Position - 1 year appointment subject to renewal of funding each year. No permanent appointment will be reached from this position.***

    RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES:
    Leads development and delivery of programming in support of scholarship recipient success throughout their award period (from recruitment, matriculation to graduation in most cases). Case-based outreach and coordination with campus partners including Advising, Advancement, HIPEE, and other units, as appropriate. Coordinates the collection of cohort data and coordinates the development of research and analysis protocols and projects. Coordinates robust assessment, using disaggregated data, of student success through HIPs and Institutional Research to facilitate continuous improvement toward achievement of Strategic Initiatives and scholarship retention goals. Maintains databases, Qualtrics survey instruments, EAB program utilization and results, and research projects.

    Works with partners in Academic Affairs to coordinate timelines, PeopleSoft tasks, processes, communication, marketing, and guided registration to ensure quality, promote equitable educational outcomes, and allow for robust assessment of donor-awarded student scholarships and its connection to student outcomes. Works with partners in Admissions, Financial Aid, Student Affairs, especially Housing and Residential Education for Learning/Living-Learning Communities, Student Academic Success & Equity Initiatives (SASEI), High Impact Practices & Experiential Education (HIPEE) and Orientation, for the recruitment, retention and ongoing support of students in alignment with scholarship requirements.

    Coordinates team collaborations: regular meetings of appropriate colleagues across campus for event planning, organization, advertising, implementation, and assessment to engage students in co-curricular programming throughout the year with a particular focus on applicable scholarship recipients and their scholarship requirements. Coordinates campus- wide meetings for outreach, recruitment, promotion at Admitted Dolphin Day, pre-registration process, Orientation, enrollment, and summer student communication efforts to support enrollment and retention efforts of applicable scholarship recipients. Works in Canva and other digital platforms to create marketing flyers, event promotions, social media posts, etc. to foster engagement with campus resources and cocurricular programs. Supports maintenance of budget records for program funding for events, speakers, field trips, etc. Coordinates campus events and off-campus field trips with appropriate campus offices to ensure student safety and compliance with campus regulations, with a particular focus on applicable scholarship recipients. Prepares and maintains records for tracking of applicable scholarship recipients and reports up the information to campus partners in accordance with scholarship requirements, as needed. Serve as a point of contact for questions and inquiries as it pertains to applicable scholarship students. Collaborates with scholarship program support across the university to coordinate, plan, communicate/market and implement relevant events and programs in support of applicable scholarship recipients. Represent scholarship support resources to different campus departments and programs and events, as requested.

    Performs other related duties as assigned.

    REQUIREMENTS OF POSITION:
    Education: Bachelor’s degree from accredited, four-year university. Master’s degree in Counseling, Clinical Psychology, Social Work or a job-related field is preferred.

    Experience: Progressively responsible professional student services work experience which includes experience in advising students individually and in groups, and in analysis and resolution of complex student services problems. Demonstrated ability to maintain effective organizational, public, and community relationships using a high degree of professionalism, tact, and persuasiveness. Experience working with student leaders and/or faculty to foster learning engagement is desirable. Experience in working with computerized student information systems, databases, and other computer software (Google Suite, Microsoft Office Suite, graphic design applications) desirable. Ability to organize and set priorities; learn quickly; and apply goals and objectives. Experience working in diverse environments and supporting individuals from underrepresented populations, especially first-generation students.

    Other Knowledge/Skills: Ability to gather and analyze data, reason logically, draw valid conclusions, and make appropriate recommendations; participate in and contribute to group meetings, conferences, and interviews; make oral presentations; clearly express ideas; write clear and concise reports; and utilize word processing, graphic design, and data programs. Ability to work effectively under pressure and complete assignments in a timely manner; establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with faculty, administrators, staff, and students at CSUCI and at other colleges and universities. Knowledge of general university policies and practices related to undergraduate education and degree programs is desired. Ability to maintain strict confidentiality in all aspects of work, and to interact with and be sensitive to diverse clientele.

    A background check (including a criminal records check) must be completed satisfactorily before any candidate can be offered a position with the CSU.     The person holding this position is considered a ‘mandated reporter’ under the California Child Abuse and Neglect Reporting Act and is required to comply with the requirements set forth in CSU Executive Order 1083 Revised July 21, 2017 as a condition of employment.

    Hiring Salary: $6,320 per month
