Join Our Team as a Utilities Crew Leader!
We are looking for a driven and experienced Utilities Crew Leader to lead and support our dedicated field crews in maintaining and repairing the city’s water distribution and sewer collection systems. What You’ll Do:
- Supervise, train, and evaluate utility crew members to ensure top-tier performance.
- Prioritize and assign work orders; inspect work for quality and compliance.
- Plan job sites and coordinate traffic control for safe operations.
- Ensure strict adherence to safety protocols, including confined space entry.
- Address and resolve public inquiries and complaints in a professional manner.
- Maintain accurate records of time, materials, and equipment use.
- Serve as a technical expert in water and sewer maintenance operations.
What You Bring to the Team:
- Thorough knowledge of water distribution and sewer collection systems.
- Strong leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in both field and office environments.
- Familiarity with safety regulations and equipment operation standards.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 1–3 years of relevant field experience, with leadership responsibilities.
- Valid Texas Driver’s License (or ability to obtain).
- Ability to obtain the following certifications:
- TCEQ Collection II License (Wastewater Collections)
- TCEQ Class C License (Water Distribution)
Work Environment & Physical Demands:
This position requires work both in the office and in the field—including all weather conditions. Physical duties include standing, bending, lifting, and operating equipment.
